In a surprising turn of events, Chief Imam Dr. Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi of All India Imam Organization received a fatwa and life threats for attending the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Lalla at Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. The Imam, who went to Ayodhya for harmony and to spread a message of love, now finds himself at the center of controversy.

The Chief Imam revealed that the fatwa was issued on social media, urging imams and mosque authorities to boycott him. His mobile number was disclosed in the fatwa, escalating the threats. Despite the challenges, Ilyasi remains steadfast, refusing to apologize or resign from his position.

In response to the criticism, the Chief Imam urged those who disapprove of his actions to "go to Pakistan." He stressed that his aim was to promote love and unity, emphasizing that, despite diverse backgrounds and beliefs, humanity should be a common religion. The fatwa demanded an apology and his resignation, but Ilyasi, undeterred, expressed gratitude for the warm welcome he received from the people of Ayodhya, including saints.

The inauguration of Ram Mandir on January 22, attended by Prime Minister Modi and thousands of guests, marked a historic event. The controversy surrounding Chief Imam Ilyasi underscores the challenges of promoting unity in a diverse society.
