A loud explosion was reported in Lahore a day after India’s Operation Sindoor targeted terror camps in Pakistan and PoK. While the cause of the blast remains unclear, it follows heightened military tensions between the two nations. Airport operations were disrupted, and both governments are facing pressure to avoid escalation.

A powerful explosion rocked Lahore on Thursday morning, intensifying tensions in the region just a day after India launched precision strikes on nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir under "Operation Sindoor". Local media, including Geo TV and Reuters, reported the blast, which triggered panic in neighborhoods near Walton Airport, such as Gopal Nagar and Naseerabad.
Eyewitnesses described hearing sirens and rushing out of their homes in confusion and fear. Authorities have yet to confirm the cause of the explosion. The timing, however, has fueled speculation of a connection to India’s recent military action, although no official link has been established.
In response to the uncertain security environment, flight operations were temporarily suspended at Lahore, Karachi, and Sialkot airports. It is unclear whether the suspension is directly related to the Lahore blast or a broader precautionary move following the Indian airstrikes.
India's Operation Sindoor was launched as a retaliatory strike for the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which left 26 civilians dead. The Indian government has maintained that its response was targeted, restrained, and designed to avoid civilian or military infrastructure.
The Pakistani government has condemned the Indian strikes, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif calling the operation a "cowardly attack" and vowing a strong response. The situation has sparked concern across the international community, with financial markets reacting to the escalating tensions.

As reports of additional explosions in Muzaffarabad and surrounding areas emerge, the region remains on high alert. With both nations standing firm, calls for restraint grow louder amid fears of further escalation.
