In the wake of Mahua Moitra's removal from the Lok Sabha, the conflict between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Trinamool Congress (TMC) has intensified significantly. West Bengal's Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, launched a scathing critique against the BJP, characterizing the expulsion as an assault on democratic principles. This escalation occurred as Moitra faced expulsion following allegations related to a cash-for-query case, a decision driven by the ethics panel's report.

The BJP retaliated promptly, with Dushyant Gaitum condemning Moitra's actions and emphasizing the compromise of national security in exchange for financial gains. Meanwhile, Banerjee accused the BJP of engaging in vendetta politics, expressing unwavering confidence in Moitra's eventual exoneration. She maintained that justice would prevail through the electorate's verdict in the upcoming elections.

The sequence of events unfolded swiftly within the Lok Sabha, triggering heated debates over the committee's recommendations for Moitra's expulsion and a subsequent comprehensive investigation by the Government of India. This discordance marked a profound division between the two political adversaries.
