In a significant move for Melbourne Stars, Marcus Stoinis has inked a three-year contract extension, solidifying his position until the culmination of BBL Season 16. The agreement, finalized prior to the BBL signing embargo on January 24, marks a pivotal moment for both the franchise and the seasoned all-rounder.

With an impressive track record in the T20 format, the 34-year-old Stoinis boasts 255 appearances worldwide, amassing 5261 runs at a stellar strike rate of 136.96. His batting prowess includes a century and 27 half-centuries, with a career-best of 147*. Stoinis has struck 427 fours and 226 sixes while also displaying his bowling finesse, claiming 118 wickets, including three four-wicket hauls and a best bowling figure of 4/15.
