He reaffirmed his commitment to the Bahujan Movement, stating that his political career was secondary to the larger fight for Dalit empowerment.

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati has expelled her nephew Akash Anand from the party, citing his involvement in activities that went against party interests. The decision was announced on Monday, just a day after Anand was removed from all key positions within the party.

Mayawati stated that the move was necessary to uphold the values of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar and BSP founder Kanshiram. She compared Anand’s removal to the earlier expulsion of his father-in-law, emphasizing that party discipline and ideology take precedence over personal ties.

Following Anand’s removal, Mayawati appointed her brother Anand Kumar and Rajya Sabha MP Ramji Gautam as national coordinators in his place. She also reiterated her stance that she would not appoint a successor during her lifetime, dismissing speculation about leadership transitions within the party.

Reacting to the decision, Akash Anand expressed his respect for Mayawati’s authority, calling her decisions “carved in stone.” He acknowledged that the expulsion was emotionally challenging but viewed it as an opportunity to prove his dedication to the Bahujan Movement.

In a social media post, Anand addressed speculation about his political future, stating that the movement for Dalit empowerment is not about personal careers but about fighting for the rights of marginalized communities. He insisted that the struggle would continue beyond his individual role and that many more supporters would carry forward the party’s vision.
