If you are a fan of Tom Cruise, don't wait for this review to end. Go and book your tickets now, and watch the movie on the big screen first. You can read this article once you are home, I won't mind.
If you aren't a fan of Tom Cruise (I don't know you, sorry) and never have ever watched any of the previously released 6 films from the Mission Impossible franchise, wait till the end of the article so you can make up your mind about hitting the theaters.
Making his comeback on the big screen with the MI franchise after being missing for almost 5 years, Tom Cruise set the film on fire. Well, that's more than obvious now, Mission Impossible is Mission Impossible because of Cruise and his unwavering courage!
If you have been active on the Internet for the past few months, you must have seen the death-dealing stunts Cruise carried out during the shooting of Mission Impossible- Dead Reckoning Part 1. Whether jumping off a cliff of a mountain with a parachute or perfectly carrying out a car chase with handcuffs on, you can never question Tom Cruise's downright dedication to entertaining the audience.
However, apart from those crazy "real" sequences, the film failed to give you moments where you would say, "Oh my god, did that actually happen?" Dead Reckoning, at times, just couldn't give you the kicks it promised.
But let's not jump to the conclusion yet, as it was the first part and a sequel is in the making. Let's cross our fingers and hope that the breathtaking action scenes we associate MI with will be back in part 2.

Having said that, there are countless times that you would feel amazed by the sheer inch-perfect moments that make this movie a must-watch on the big screen. Maybe it failed to live up to the action hype of its prequels, but hey, you just can't miss out on the entire plot and the cast.
The plot of the film is captivating and can leave you contemplating once you are out of the theaters. (Don't worry, I won't discuss the plot here) No wonder why the Mission Impossible franchise has announced a part 2 as well.
Adding on to the plot, it was Hayley Atwell's character Grace, that stole the show. Being a co-star of Tom Cruise, it is very difficult to steal all the limelight. And Hayley managed to somehow do that, against all odds.

She was phenomenal throughout the movie, right from the airport (oops, spoiler alert) to the very last, she nailed every scene and every emotion to perfection. Maybe it's time we have a successor for Rebecca Ferguson and her character Ilsa Faust!
All in all, this is the kind of entertainment you should be hitting the theaters for. Tom Cruise was excellent (once again), Hayley Atwell dropped a bomb and showed everyone how to make your debut in an already existing series and cast, Simon Pegg being Simon Pegg, and Vanessa Kirby making a strong point for herself once again, the film has everything you need for a refreshing 3 hours break.
Although, when compared to some other action films released recently, particularly John Wick: Chapter 4, Mission Impossible- Dead Reckoning Part 1 might lose a few points on endless action sequences, the movie still delivers on all other fronts and is a complete entertainer.
