Mukhtar Ansari, a
63-year-old mafia criminal, passed away at Banda Medical College on Thursday
night after suffering a heart attack.
Since 2005, Ansari has served time in jail in Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. He represented the Mau Sadar constituency as an MLA for five terms. He had sixty-five felony cases outstanding at the time. Since September 2022, at least eight courts in Uttar Pradesh have issued penalties in a variety of crimes, and he has been imprisoned at Banda ever since.

A senior police official said that when he passed out and puked, jail staff rushed him to Banda's Rani Durgavati Medical College emergency department. Nine medical professionals and nurses attended to the patient right away. Despite the best efforts of all those involved, the patient suffered a heart attack and passed away.
Thursday night marked the mafia don Mukhtar Ansari's home coming to Banda Medical College. He is now being held at Banda jail. This was the result of his body being found in his barracks, motionless. Upon first sight, prison officials identified him and escorted him to the nearby hospital. According to sources inside the Banda jail, Mukhtar Ansari was admitted to the hospital following a heart attack, according to earlier reports. The district hospital had all of its rooms roped off, and the media was not allowed to enter through the main door.
