Mumbai Indians' batting woes continue: Can they turn things around against Kolkata Knight Riders?

But the road to victory won't be easy, especially since the Mumbai Indians have struggled in their first two games. Their batting has been a particular weakness, with the team posting sub-par totals in both matches. Against the Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai could only manage 171/7 in 20 overs, and Bangalore chased down the target with ease. In their second game against the Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai's batting woes continued as they stumbled to 157/8, losing by 7 wickets with 11 balls to spare.

Last ball drama as Mumbai Indians beat Delhi Capitals in IPL 2023

But the Mumbai Indians bounced back in their match against the Delhi Capitals, thanks in part to three-wicket hauls from Piyush Chawla and Jason Behrendorff. Captain Rohit Sharma also played a pivotal role, scoring an impressive 65 off just 45 balls. Mumbai Indians won the match off the last ball, leaving fans on the edge of their seats.

Mumbai Indians find their groove with impressive performances from Rohit Sharma and Tilak Varma

Now, Mumbai will need to build on its recent success if they want to climb up the table. Fortunately, there are some bright spots on the team. 20-year-old Tilak Varma has been a standout performer, scoring 147 runs in three games at a strike rate of 158. And Rohit Sharma seems to have found his form again after answering his critics with his first half-century in the IPL for two years.

Concerns Mount as Mumbai Indians' Cameron Green and Surya Kumar Yadav Struggle in IPL 2023

But there are also some areas of concern. Cameron Green, who was picked up for INR 17.5 crores, has yet to make a notable impact. He's scored only 34 runs and has taken one wicket so far. Surya Kumar Yadav has also struggled, scoring only 16 runs in three games. Mumbai will need these players to step up if they want to compete with the top teams.

Mumbai fans rejoice as Archer's comeback is expected in the next match

And there's also some good news for Mumbai fans: Jofra Archer is expected to return to the team's starting lineup after missing the last two games due to injury. If fit, Archer might replace Riley Meredith, who picked up two wickets in the last match. Mumbai has limited alternatives to support Chawla as their spin bowlers, Hrithik Shokeen and Kumar Kartikeya, have not been productive in the games played until now.
