Security forces in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada have uncovered a Naxal tunnel, revealing evolving tactics reminiscent of groups like Hamas. The discovery follows a recent Naxalite ambush in Sukma, raising concerns about the shifting strategies used to counter government forces. The situation prompts heightened alerts and security measures in the region.
In
a significant development in Chhattisgarh's ongoing battle against Naxalites,
security forces have uncovered a tunnel in the Dantewada
region. This discovery, emerging amidst escalating tensions, reveals a
shift in the Naxalites' tactical evasion methods, reminiscent of tactics
employed by the Palestinian terror group Hamas.
The
revelation comes in the aftermath of a Naxalite ambush in Sukma, where security
personnel faced a fierce gunbattle, resulting in three tragic deaths and
injuries to 14 others in Bijapur district. The subsequent search operation in
Dantewada led to the discovery of a tunnel, serving as a clandestine bunker for
the Naxalites to lie low and potentially ambush government forces.
Notorious for their guerrilla warfare training, Naxalites seem to be adopting a new strategic approach to avoid detection and capture. Officials believe the tunnel could have been part of a trap set by the Naxalites to ambush security forces during an exchange of fire in the dense forests of Dantewada.

The
evolving tactics raise concerns about the ongoing battle against Naxal
violence, prompting a response from Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai.
Visiting injured jawans at Balaji Hospital in Raipur, CM Sai emphasized the
Naxals' desperation, possibly triggered by the establishment of a security camp
at Tekalgudem village.
Chhattisgarh
Director General of Police (DGP) Ashok Juneja shed light on the Naxals'
opposition to the security camp, leading to the exchange of fire. Video footage
reportedly showed Naxalites retrieving bodies on their side. With 15 soldiers
injured and three lives lost, the incident underscores the challenges faced by
security forces in the region.
The double-engine government, as articulated by CM Sai, remains committed to eliminating Naxal terror from the state, despite the sacrifices made during this recent firefight. The discovery of the tunnel adds a new layer to the complex and evolving dynamics of the conflict in Chhattisgarh.
