Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi’s four-day Singapore visit seeks to attract global investments by showcasing the state’s industrial opportunities. The delegation aims to learn from Singapore’s advanced infrastructure, promote Odisha’s resources, and foster trade ties ahead of the Utkarsh Odisha 2025 Summit, bolstering the state’s economic and industrial landscape.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, accompanied by Industries Minister Sampad and senior officials, commenced a four-day visit to Singapore on Saturday. The visit aims to position Odisha as a premier destination for global investments and promote the state’s expanding industrial and economic opportunities.
Speaking to reporters before departure, CM Majhi emphasized the state’s readiness to welcome international businesses. "Our message will be clear—Odisha is open for business," he stated. The trip coincides with the Bali Jatra festival, which symbolizes Odisha’s historical maritime trade legacy.
During the visit, the delegation plans to showcase Odisha’s investment potential in sectors such as chemicals, petrochemicals, green energy, logistics, shipbuilding, financial services, electronics, and semiconductors. Singapore’s advanced industrial ecosystem offers a promising opportunity for collaboration, Majhi noted.
The delegation is scheduled to meet with industry leaders, policymakers, and investors, as well as engage with the Odia diaspora. Additionally, discussions will focus on Odisha’s skilled workforce, industrial policies, and infrastructure, including the state’s operational ports at Dhamra, Paradip, and Gopalpur, vital hubs for global trade.
The visit is part of the state’s preparations for the upcoming Utkarsh Odisha 2025 Summit in January. The team will explore Singapore’s advanced industrial facilities, such as the Jurong Petrochemicals Region and Tuas Port, to adopt best practices in technology and infrastructure development.
