The Indian Army's 'Operation Sarvashakti' aims to curb rising terror threats in Kashmir, employing a comprehensive strategy involving multiple security forces. The initiative is a response to recent attacks, reflecting the government's commitment to safeguarding the region's peace and stability.
In response to escalating terrorist activities, the Indian Army is initiating 'Operation Sarvashakti' to target militants across Pir Panjal mountain ranges in Jammu and Kashmir. This strategic move follows recent terror attacks in the valley, prompting heightened security measures.
Under 'Operation
Sarvashakti,' the Srinagar-based Chinar Corps, in collaboration with the
Nagrota-headquartered White Knight Corps, will conduct counter-terrorism
operations on both sides of the Pir Panjal mountain ranges. The Jammu and
Kashmir Police, CRPF, Special Operations Group, and intelligence agencies will
work collaboratively to thwart attempts to revive terrorist activities,
particularly in the Rajouri Poonch sector.
Army headquarters and the
Northern Army Command will closely monitor these counter-terrorism operations.
The decision stems from a security meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Amit
Shah, who gathered top officials, including NSA Ajit Doval, Army
representatives, and intelligence experts.
Meanwhile, Northern Army
Commander Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi emphasized the importance of
maintaining peace and tranquility in Kashmir. During a joint security review at
the Victor Force headquarters, responsible for security in south Kashmir, Lt
Gen Dwivedi applauded the seamless synergy among security forces and
intelligence agencies in operations, combat readiness, counter-terrorism
efforts, and fostering soldier-citizen connections.
Lt Gen Dwivedi, accompanied by the Chinar Corps Commander and GOC Vajr Division, visited the forward areas of the Machil sector in north Kashmir's Kupwara district. The focus was on reviewing the counter-infiltration grid along the Line of Control (LoC). The Army Commander interacted with personnel from Rashtriya Rifles, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Border Security Force, and Border Roads Organisation, underscoring the relentless pursuit of operational excellence.
