Oscar Award: Falak Khan's short film ‘Champaran Mutton’ enters semifinal round

Amidst the celebrations surrounding the success of the short film 'Champaran Mutton' reaching the semi-final round of the Oscar's Student Academy Award, actor Falak Khan took a moment to express her heartfelt gratitude to her dedicated team.
In her interaction with ANI, the actor from Muzaffarpur, Bihar shared her thoughts about 'Champaran Mutton,' stating that it is a touching story that aims to portray the everyday problems faced by middle-class families.
She expressed her gratitude to the entire team involved in the film, stating, "I am thankful to the entire team and this achievement. This is the result of the hard work that we all put in."
Directed by Ranjan Kumar, a filmmaker from the renowned Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) in Pune, ‘Champaran Mutton’ was one of the nominees along with 1,700+ films from film training institutes across the globe.
While talking about the movie Falak revealed more details about the movie's storyline. As per the actor, the movie is based on the life of a middle-class family that is struggling with the challenges imposed by the lockdown, where many individuals lost their livelihoods.
Falak added, “It is a story of a young man, who is rendered jobless during the lockdown but tries to win over the girl he loves despite his personal troubles. The fill is set on a rural backdrop".
As the film competes with 16 other films in the semifinal round of the Oscar's Student Academy Award, the entire team behind 'Champaran Mutton' is hopeful.
