The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terror Squad (UP ATS) questioned a 27-year-old woman identified as Seema Haider, who is a resident of Pakistan. During the two-day questioning, the police made significant findings, recovering five Pakistan-authorized passports, one unused passport, and an identity card, along with other items, from Seema.
The UP Director General of Police's office issued a statement indicating that investigations are ongoing into the recovered documents, as well as the four mobile phones and two video cassettes found in her possession. The police have also revealed that Seema Haider and her Indian husband, Sachin Meena, 22, and his father, Netrapal Singh, were being questioned to ascertain whether she was involved in espionage activities.
According to the information available, Seema Haider entered India via the Nepal border after leaving Pakistan on March 10. She traveled to Sharjah airport (UAE) and then Kathmandu airport on a tourist visa, and on March 17, she returned to Pakistan following the same route.
Sachin Meena played a role in her entry to India, reaching the Gorakhpur area on March 8 and subsequently crossing the Sonauli border to Kathmandu, where he met Seema. They both stayed in Kathmandu until March 17.
Later, on May 10, Seema returned to India for the second time, accompanied by her four children. She again traveled via Dubai and Kathmandu, entering India through the Rupandehi-Khunwa border in Siddharthnagar district. She then reached Greater Noida, where Sachin had already rented a room for them.
The authorities reported that Seema and Sachin got acquainted through the online game PUBG in 2020 and exchanged phone numbers, leading to regular communication on WhatsApp.
On July 4, Seema Haider, Sachin Meena, and Netrapal Singh were arrested under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Passport Act for allegedly entering India illegally and providing shelter to the woman. They were later granted bail on July 7 after being sent to 14-day judicial custody.
The investigation is ongoing, with the Gautam Buddha Nagar police collaborating with the Intelligence Bureau and UP ATS to delve into the evidence collected so far.
