England's Phil Salt, despite England's loss to the Windies, set multiple T20I records, surpassing Mohammad Rizwan's all-time runs record in a bilateral series. Salt's stunning performance, including back-to-back centuries, contrasted with his IPL snub, puzzling the 27-year-old batter after being overlooked in the 2024 auction.

In a recent T20I series, England faced defeat against the Windies, but Phil Salt's outstanding performance stood out despite his team's loss. The Windies secured victory in a thrilling final match held in Trinidad, restricting England to a mere 132 runs on a challenging pitch.

Salt's exceptional batting display marked a series of milestones, notably becoming the second player from ICC full members to achieve consecutive centuries in T20Is. His remarkable 119-run knock in the 4th T20I not only became the highest score by an England batter in T20Is but also placed him in the spotlight.

Even though Salt only managed 38 runs in the 5th T20I, he managed to break an all-time record set by Pakistan's Mohammad Rizwan. Surpassing Rizwan's milestone, Salt accumulated a total of 331 runs, securing the top spot for the most runs scored in a T20I bilateral series among full members.

However, despite Salt's exceptional form in the international arena, he faced disappointment in the IPL auction of 2024. Surprisingly, with a base price of INR 1.5 crore, none of the franchises showed interest, leaving the talented batter perplexed.

Reflecting on his omission, Salt expressed his confusion but acknowledged the unpredictability of auctions, emphasizing the quality of the players listed. Despite the IPL setback, Salt's extraordinary performance in the T20I series highlighted his prowess in the cricketing world, even in the face of challenges and uncertainties.
