PM Modi Ministers at G20 Summit

In an unconventional move, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has unveiled a distinctive protocol for the forthcoming G20 Leaders' Summit dinner set to take place in the national capital on September 9-10.

Prime Minister Modi conveyed that no official vehicles will be provided to ministers attending the event. Instead, ministers, as well as invited chief ministers from various states, are instructed to use their own vehicles to reach the Parliament Complex. Once there, a shuttle service will facilitate their transportation to the Bharat Mandapam, the chosen dinner venue.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Modi has underscored the importance of ministers acquainting themselves with the cultures of the foreign delegates they will be hosting. Ministers have been given the directive to familiarize themselves with the customs, cuisine, and fundamental aspects of these foreign cultures. This emphasis aims to create a more engaging and culturally sensitive atmosphere during the summit.

During a recent meeting with the Council of Ministers, Prime Minister Modi also imposed strict communication guidelines. Only ministers who are authorized will be allowed to discuss the G20 meeting, reinforcing the significance of maintaining confidentiality and discretion.

The logistics for the event include chief ministers arriving at the Parliament House complex in their own vehicles at 5:30 pm, followed by a shuttle ride to the dinner venue scheduled for 6:30 pm on Saturday, September 9.

In preparation for the event, ministers were briefed on the proper etiquette to be observed when receiving foreign delegates at the airport. Additionally, they were required to download the G20 mobile application, which supports five UN languages and five other languages, including English, Hindi, German, Japanese, and Portuguese. This comprehensive approach highlights the meticulous planning and importance attached to the G20 Leaders' Summit dinner.
