PM's visit to France and UAE to set a Strategic benchmark

Accepting the
invitation of the French President Emmanuel Macron, for Bastille Day Indian
Prime Minister Narendra Modi departed for Paris, France on 13th July,2023
morning. PM will be on an International visit to France for 13-14 July, 2023
followed by a visit to UAE starting on 15th July, 2023.
The French visit
will commence with the PM's arrival at Paris at around 4 PM IST and will
receive a Ceremonial welcome at Orly Airport followed by the senate at around 7:30 PM IST and meet the
President of senate, Mr. Gerrad Larcher. At around 8:30 PM IST, he will meet
his French counterpart, Ms Elisabeth Borne.
An address to the
Indian community by the PM is scheduled at around 11 PM IST at La Seine
Musicale. Thereafter, at around 00:30 AM IST, he will arrive at Elysee Palace
for a private dinner hosted by the French President.
On Thursday the
Prime Minister stated that he looks forward to meeting President Macron and
holding wide-ranging discussions on taking forward this longstanding and
time-tested partnership over the next 25 years, as this year marks the 25th
anniversary of France-India strategic relations.
On his visit PM
will be interacting with french dignitaries and top CEOs of both the countries.
The PM also noted the two nations' close cooperation in a number of areas, such
as defense, space, civil nuclear, the blue economy, trade, investment,
education, culture, and people-to-people ties. They collaborate on regional and
international concerns as well.
The PM will be
taking part in Balliste Day celebrations as the Guest of Honour. An Indian
tri-services contingent will be part of the Bastille Day Parade, while Indian
Air Force aircraft will perform a fly-past on the occasion.
The Indian
community at Paris is eagerly awaiting the PM's arrival. The Indians are
enthusiastically awaiting to welcome the PM and to represent the community by
performing arts and present a specially designed turban etc.
Followed by his
visit to France, PM Modi will depart for Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, for
an Official visit on 15th July, 2023. He tweeted that he looks forward to
meeting the President of the country and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, H.H. Sheikh
Mohammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He mentioned the notable collaboration between
India and the UAE in the fields of fintech, defense, security, and energy.
PM Modi is also
considering discussing with the President of UAE the previous year, an agreed
Roadmap on the future of the two nation's partnership.
Prime Minister
Modi stated that UAE will be hosting the 28th Conference of Parties of the
UNFCCC (COP-28) later this year. He further added he also looks forward to
exchanging views on strengthening global cooperation towards accelerating
climate action to facilitate the energy transition and implementation of the
Paris Agreement. He mentioned that he is confident that his visit to UAE will
usher in a new chapter in the two countries' Comprehensive Strategic
Partnership.
This three day official international visit is expected to set a benchmark in strategic relations development bilaterally with both the countries.
