Pramod Pathak, renowned for his appearances in web-series
such as Mirzapur and Maharani, has shifted his attention towards films and his
deep-rooted affection for theater. Despite his previous portrayal as a
politician in web shows, Pathak has embarked on a journey to embrace a myriad
of diverse roles, expanding his artistic horizons.
During a recent visit to Lucknow for a shoot, the talented actor from Raees (2017), Pramod Pathak, shared his approach towards his craft. "I am striving to ensure that I avoid repetition, which has made me quite selective. I have turned down at least 10 projects where they wanted me to portray a politician!" Pathak revealed. He reminisced about his early years in the industry, where he dedicated a significant portion of his 28-year career to stage plays. With an unwavering determination to refuse projects that don't align with his artistic goals, Pathak remains focused on elevating his trajectory.
Having already completed three films, Pathak provided
insight into his recent endeavors. "I have wrapped up the shoot for
Suspect, in which I portray the negative lead alongside Meezaan, Javed
Jaffery's son, and Nana Patekar. Additionally, I have also worked on Agni with
Pratik Gandhi, where I assume the role of the fire department chief. Recently,
I finished filming for Mai Atal Hoon, wherein I bring a historical figure to life,"
Pathak enthusiastically shared.
Renowned for his remarkable performances in Gangs of Wasseypur (2011) and Raazi (2018), the talented actor is all set to grace the screen once again in the third installment of his highly successful franchise. Sharing exciting news about his ongoing projects, he disclosed, "Last year, I had the opportunity to shoot for Mirzapur-3 in Varanasi and Lucknow. This year, I will also be filming for Maharani-3 in Bhopal. Being a part of such iconic series allows me the luxury of slowing down my pace on OTT platforms."
In addition to his screen ventures, Pathak is dedicating his attention to his own theater production endeavors. He shared insights into his theater group, Kathakaar, stating, "For Kathakaar, I have written and directed two plays this year: Mahar Thakuron ka Gaon and Dolkar Doma aur Yeti. Although I do not act in my own plays, I have taken on a role in A Peasant of El Salvador, directed by Aasar Padamsee.
Therefore, alongside my film projects, I am placing great emphasis on theater," expressed the actor, who hails from Lambhua in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
