Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to initiate numerous development endeavors from Jammu

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming visit to Jammu includes the launch of development projects worth Rs 30,500 crore, spanning education, railways, aviation, and roads. These initiatives aim to bolster connectivity, sustainability, and economic growth while enhancing education, healthcare, and civic infrastructure across Jammu and Kashmir.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is poised to unveil a transformative wave of development in Jammu, encompassing diverse sectors. Scheduled for Tuesday, his itinerary is packed with inaugural ceremonies and foundation stone layings, heralding a new era of progress in the region.

Among the eagerly anticipated projects are significant railway initiatives, including the inauguration of the Banihal-Khari-Sumber-Sangaldan railway line and the electrified Baramulla-Srinagar-Banihal-Sangaldan section. These endeavors promise improved connectivity and enhanced travel experiences for passengers, with a focus on environmental sustainability.

In the realm of education and skilling, Modi's agenda features the inauguration of projects totaling approximately Rs 13,375 crore. Notable highlights include the establishment of permanent campuses for prestigious institutions like IITs and the launch of three new IIMs, bolstering the educational landscape of the country.

Healthcare infrastructure receives a substantial boost with the inauguration of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Vijaypur, Jammu. This state-of-the-art facility, part of the 'Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana', is equipped to deliver comprehensive tertiary-care services to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

The prime minister's visit also encompasses initiatives aimed at enhancing air travel and road connectivity in the region. A modern terminal building at the Jammu airport and significant road projects, including sections of the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra expressway and the Srinagar Ring road, are set to redefine transportation infrastructure in Jammu.

Furthermore, Modi will lay the foundation stone for a project to develop a Common User Facility (CUF) petroleum depot in Jammu, underscoring efforts to strengthen energy infrastructure. Additionally, various development projects worth over Rs 3,150 crore will fortify civic infrastructure and public facilities across Jammu and Kashmir, aligning with the overarching goal of holistic regional development.
