A tragic incident unfolded in Abbotsford, Canada, where a man from Punjab, Jagpreet Singh, aged 50, has been charged with second-degree murder. His victim, Balwinder Kaur, also from Punjab, aged 41, succumbed to fatal stab wounds inflicted by her husband. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) confirmed this information.

Authorities were alerted when police responded to an assault-in-progress call, finding Kaur with life-threatening injuries. Despite immediate medical attention, she couldn't survive. Singh, who was apprehended at the scene, is reported to have known the victim.

According to reports, the victim's family disclosed shocking details. Singh had recently arrived in Canada, and shortly after his arrival, he committed the heinous act. In a disturbing twist, he made a video call to his mother in Ludhiana, confessing to the murder by saying, "I have put her to sleep forever."

Allegations surfaced regarding Singh's obsession with going to Canada and his wife's supposed reluctance to facilitate his travel. Family members revealed ongoing financial disputes and Singh's unemployment as contributing factors to their marital discord.

Contrary to these claims, Singh's brother denied any harassment or coercion. He portrayed the couple as content and refuted allegations of intentional harm, suggesting the incident was a mistake.

The victim, Balwinder Kaur, hailed from a humble background, working diligently to support her family. Her tragic demise has left her father, Himmat Singh, in profound shock. Balwinder's sister emphasized her dedication to familial responsibilities despite facing financial burdens and marital discord.
