Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, during his 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' in Jharkhand, met Hemant Soren's wife, Kalpana Soren, after the successful trust vote in the Assembly. Addressing a rally, Rahul criticized the Modi government's alleged privatization of Public Sector Undertakings. Chief Minister Champai Soren secured victory in the trust vote, ensuring stability in the ruling coalition.

In
a significant political development, Rahul Gandhi engaged with the political
landscape of Jharkhand following the triumph of the trust vote in the state
assembly. The Congress leader met Kalpana Soren, wife of former Jharkhand chief
minister Hemant Soren, at her residence in Ranchi. This rendezvous took place
as part of Rahul's ongoing 'Bharat
Jodo Nyay Yatra,' which resumed from Ramgarh district on the fourth day of
his procession through the state.
The
meeting, described by Jairam Ramesh on X as a strategic move, occurred just
moments before a public rally at the historic Shaheed Maidan in the HEC Complex
of Ranchi. The JMM-INC-RJD-CPI(ML) alliance had recently defeated the BJP and
its allies in a convincing manner during the trust vote in the Vidhan Sabha.
This was a notable event as it marked Rahul's first meeting with Kalpana Soren
since Hemant Soren's arrest in connection with a land scam case.
During the subsequent public rally, Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the Narendra Modi government. He alleged that the government is gradually dismantling Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and handing them over to Adani. Rahul expressed concern that entities like HEC might be privatized, warning of a potential name change to bear the Adani brand. He claimed to have witnessed the gradual transition of PSUs like BHEL, HAL, and HEC into Adani's control, emphasizing the need to protect these public entities from privatization.
The political landscape in Jharkhand underwent a crucial phase as Chief Minister Champai Soren secured a majority vote in the trust vote held in the assembly. The ruling alliance led by Champai Soren convincingly crossed the majority threshold with a decisive count of 47-29, solidifying the legitimacy and stability of the newly formed government. This victory was particularly significant as it unfolded amidst the leadership transition following the arrest of Hemant Soren in a land fraud case. The successful trust vote outcome marked a pivotal moment for Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Champai Soren, affirming the strength and coherence of the ruling coalition in the state.
