Rahul Gandhi, currently on a US tour, criticized Prime Minister Modi, suggesting that the PM has been "psychologically trapped" since the BJP's unexpected election results. Gandhi asserted that despite Congress's financial challenges during the campaign, they disrupted Modi's vision for India. He also highlighted the role of the Opposition’s INDIA bloc in weakening Modi's political dominance.
During his ongoing tour of the United States, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a sharp critique of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asserting that the PM has been "psychologically trapped" since the Bharatiya Janata Party's unexpected performance in the general elections. Addressing the Overseas Congress and interacting with students at Georgetown University, Washington D.C., Gandhi claimed that despite facing significant financial constraints, Congress was able to thwart Modi's idea of India.
Gandhi revealed that during the elections, Congress had its bank accounts frozen, yet managed to disrupt what he termed "Modi's vision" for the country. He said, "We fought with our accounts frozen, and still destroyed Modi's idea." According to Gandhi, PM Modi has been unable to reconcile with the election results, and this is evident in his current demeanor in Parliament, where he appears "psychologically trapped" and unable to understand the unexpected outcome.

Gandhi further remarked that halfway through the election campaign, it became evident that Modi’s confidence was shaken. He suggested that Modi, who had governed Gujarat without facing significant adversity before becoming Prime Minister, struggled to handle the opposition’s challenge and the unexpected shift in political dynamics.
The Opposition’s INDIA bloc, Gandhi claimed, played a key role in diminishing Modi’s power. Despite emerging as the single-largest party with 240 seats, the BJP failed to secure a majority in the Lok Sabha.
