New, Delhi, July 10, 2023 – Defence Minister Rajnath Singh took to the social media platform Twitter today to share his satisfaction over a productive meeting held with the Foreign Minister of Malaysia, Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir.


The discussion encompassed a wide range of issues of mutual interest, focusing on strengthening the India-Malaysia Enhanced Strategic Partnership. The meeting between Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Dr. Zambry Adbul Kadir, held in New Delhi, marked a significant step towards reinforcing the bilateral ties between India and Malaysia.


Both leaders engaged in discussions aimed at deepening cooperation in various fields, including defense, trade, technology, and regional security. The talks between the two ministers emphasized the need for greater collaboration in defense and security matters.

Rajnath Singh in Malaysia: To further boost India’s ‘Act East Policy’ and strengthen bilateral ties with Malaysia, Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh held extensive discussions with his Malaysian counterpart Mr Dato’ Seri Mohamad Hasan in Kuala Lumpur on July 10, 2023.


Minister Singh reiterated India’s commitment to the shared security interests of both nations and expressed a keen interest in exploring avenues for joint military exercises, defense technology cooperation, and information-sharing mechanisms.


Apart from defense and security, economic and trade relations were also high on the agenda. Both ministers acknowledged the importance of promoting bilateral trade and investment between India and Malaysia.


They discussed measures to enhance trade facilitation and explore new avenues for cooperation in sectors such as information technology, manufacturing, renewable energy, and infrastructure development.
