Ravi Bishnoi Claims World No.1 T20I Bowler Position; Gaikwad Holds Strong

Indian spinner Ravi Bishnoi claimed the top spot in the T20I bowlers' rankings after an exceptional display against Australia. With a series win of 4-1, India showcased remarkable performances. Gaikwad retained his top 10 position while Bishnoi surpassed Rashid Khan to become No.1.
In
the latest ICC update, Indian spinner Ravi Bishnoi has ascended to the pinnacle
of the T20I bowling rankings, a consequence of his outstanding performances
against Australia. Throughout the India vs. Australia T20I series, Bishnoi's
stellar display propelled India to a resounding 4-1 victory. His rise to the
top spot has resulted in displacing Afghanistan's Rashid Khan from the leading
position.
Bishnoi's ascension to the top spot follows his previous standing within the top 10 bowlers' rankings. According to the updated ICC rankings, Bishnoi now holds the coveted No.1 position with an impressive rating of 699 points, a substantial leap from his previous fifth position, boasting 665 rating points. Meanwhile, Ruturaj Gaikwad maintains his commendable status within the top 10 T20I batters globally, securing the seventh position.

This
marks Bishnoi as the second Indian player to secure the top spot in the T20I
rankings, while Suryakumar Yadav retains his position as the top-ranked batter
with 855 rating points, comfortably ahead of the second-placed Mohammad Rizwan
with 787 points. Additionally, Axar Patel has made a significant leap in the
all-rounders' category, currently standing in 14th place with 127 rating points
after not featuring in the top 20 previously.
Throughout the series, Gaikwad and Bishnoi exhibited remarkable prowess. Gaikwad emerged as the series' top run-scorer, amassing 223 runs across five games, even securing a century. Bishnoi showcased his bowling dominance, claiming nine wickets in the series, equalling Ravichandran Ashwin's record for most wickets by an Indian in a T20I series. Axar Patel also made his mark, securing six wickets across five matches, boasting the best economy rate of 6.20.
