Phil Salt, an emerging star for England in T20I cricket, provided a remarkable response to his snub at the IPL auction by delivering a phenomenal performance in the 4th T20I against West Indies. The game, held at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad, witnessed Salt's outstanding batting prowess as he propelled England to a record-breaking victory, leveling the series against the hosts.

Despite being overlooked in the IPL 2024 auction, Salt's innings became the talk of the cricketing world. His incredible knock of 119 runs off 57 balls not only secured England's triumph but also set multiple records in the process. The 21-year-old cricketer surpassed the likes of Alex Hales and Liam Livingstone, achieving the highest individual score for England in T20I cricket.

Salt's innings were laced with boundaries, accumulating a staggering 88 runs solely from boundaries, surpassing the previous record held by Hales. Additionally, he also established a new record by securing the most hundreds (2) for England in T20Is, overtaking Livingstone, and smashed the most sixes (10) for England in a T20I innings, surpassing Hales once again.

His partnership with skipper Jos Buttler, who himself contributed with a quickfire 55 off 29 balls, set the stage for England's dominant performance. Buttler's display also marked a milestone as he surpassed Eoin Morgan in hitting the most number of sixes (123) in T20Is for England.

While West Indies attempted to match England's momentum, their efforts fell short, with only Andre Russell putting up significant resistance with his 51 off 25 balls. Despite their struggle, the match witnessed a flurry of sixes, adding up to a total of 33 - the third-highest ever in T20I history. West Indies' response of 192 runs took the overall match aggregate to an unprecedented 459 runs, setting new records in the history of T20I matches between the two teams.

With the series now level at 2-2, the upcoming decider at the same venue holds immense significance as both teams gear up for a thrilling finale.
