Safran Group plans to establish its first defence electronics facility in India, strengthening India-France defence ties. The facility will produce key components for military platforms, and the collaboration extends to advanced metallurgy, drone development, and space security initiatives. Strategic talks also covered global security concerns including Ukraine, Israel, and China’s Indo-Pacific presence.
French defence giant Safran Group is set to launch its first electronics manufacturing unit in India, marking a significant milestone in the defence relationship between the two nations. The decision was disclosed during a recent strategic dialogue between India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and France's diplomatic and military officials.
The new facility will produce sensors and critical electronic components for military platforms, strengthening India's defence manufacturing capabilities. Safran’s expansion reflects the deepening strategic partnership between India and France, which also includes collaboration in advanced materials and metallurgy, key for manufacturing parts of military and civilian aircraft engines. The exact location of Safran’s facility is yet to be decided.
