Semicon India 2023: Top Representatives from Micron and Foxconn Attend; PM Says Bharat Never Let Us Down

The Semicon India 2023 conference kicked off with great enthusiasm in Gandhinagar on Friday. 


The event, one of the most anticipated gatherings in the industry, witnessed the presence of top officials from renowned tech giants, including Micron and Foxconn, signifying India’s growing significance in the semiconductor ecosystem.


Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered the inaugural address, expressing confidence in India’s capabilities to lead the world in technology and innovation.

Bharat Never Let Us Down
Bhupendra Patel, the chief minister of Gujarat, will also attend Semicon India 2023’s opening ceremony.

The opening remarks were given by Union Minister Mr. Ashwini Vaishnaw, followed by speeches from Vedanta Group chairman Mr. Anil Agarwal, Micron Technology President, and CEO Mr. Sanjay Mehrotra, and Foxconn Chairman Mr. Young Liu. Mr. Bhupendra Patel, the chief minister of Gujarat, is also expected to be present the entire time.


Senior officials from various companies in the semiconductor and electronics industries including Applied Materials, Cadence, and AMD are also expected to remain in attendance in addition to them.


The first iteration of the event took place in Bengaluru the previous year, now the second one is taking place in Gujarat, the stage which has been awarded a US-based company called Micron Technology project for Rs 22,500 crore.
