Qatar's Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, delivered a poignant address at the World Economic Forum in Davos, condemning Israel and the global community's handling of the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Expressing deep concern, Sheikh Mohammed criticized the extensive damage caused by the Israeli war on Hamas, stating, "Gaza is not there anymore. I mean, there is nothing over there," highlighting the severe consequences of widespread carpet bombing.

Emphasizing the interconnected nature of regional conflicts, the Qatari Prime Minister drew attention to the tensions in the West Bank, where Palestinians have also faced violence from Israeli security forces. He asserted that a sustainable resolution requires not only an end to the Gaza war but also a unified effort to bridge Palestinian divisions and promote coexistence.

Sheikh Mohammed underscored the imperative of a two-state solution and urged the global community to prioritize diplomatic efforts to bring about lasting peace. He emphasized the need for Israeli politicians who believe in peaceful coexistence alongside a Palestinian government. The Prime Minister warned that without addressing the root causes of the conflict, attempts to find solutions would remain temporary.

A crucial aspect of Sheikh Mohammed's address focused on the broader regional impact of the Gaza conflict. He argued that military strikes would not effectively curb Houthi attacks on commercial shipping lanes in the Red Sea. The Qatari PM stressed that resolving the Gaza crisis is pivotal in defusing tensions, asserting, "We need to address the central issue, which is Gaza, in order to get everything else defused."

Yemen's Houthi group, backed by Iran, has been targeting vessels in the Red Sea since November, claiming to support Palestinians in their conflict with Israel. Sheikh Mohammed warned against a military confrontation in Middle Eastern waterways, particularly in light of the recent Houthi missile strike on a US-owned ship in the Gulf of Aden.

In conclusion, Sheikh Mohammed presented a grim outlook, describing the current regional situation as a "recipe of escalation everywhere." He called for global attention and concerted efforts to resolve the Gaza conflict as a fundamental step toward stability and peace in the Middle East. The Prime Minister's address at Davos underscores the urgent need for diplomatic solutions and international cooperation in addressing complex geopolitical challenges.
