In this interview from 2018, Amitabh Bachchan was asked about the changes in his family dynamics when Aishwarya Rai Bachchan joined the fold. His response was succinct, stating, "One daughter left, another daughter came in." He went on to elaborate on the family dynamics, explaining that his daughter, Shweta, had married Delhi-based businessman Nikhil Nanda in 1997, and in 2007, his son, Abhishek Bachchan, married Aishwarya Rai.

The family feud rumors took root when Amitabh Bachchan's granddaughter, Navya Nanda, made her debut at the prestigious Paris Fashion Week 2023 alongside actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. On October 5, 2023, Navya posted a picture on her Instagram account featuring her mother, Shweta Bachchan, and her grandmother, Jaya Bachchan, but conspicuously omitted any mention of her aunt, Aishwarya. Adding fuel to the fire, Big B's daughter, Shweta, did not include Aishwarya's name while acknowledging other participants at the fashion event.

The situation escalated when Aishwarya Rai posted a photo on her Instagram account on Amitabh Bachchan's birthday. The picture showed her daughter, Aaradhya, hugging the veteran actor but cropped out Jaya Bachchan, Navya, and Agastya Nanda. This move created an uproar on social media, with users sharing the original and cropped pictures. Some speculated that Aishwarya was exacting revenge for the Paris Fashion Week humiliation, while others cited the concept of karma in relation to the Bachchan family feud.

Notably, this isn't the first time that reports of discord within the Bachchan family have surfaced. Past rumors have indicated tensions between Aishwarya and Jaya Bachchan. Nonetheless, Abhishek and Aishwarya, who have been married for over 16 years, emphasize spending quality time with their daughter, highlighting their commitment to family amidst the ongoing drama.
