Former cricketer Srikkanth criticized Team India's Test performance post-Virat Kohli's captaincy, calling them overrated. He highlighted India's struggle in SENA countries, emphasizing their decline since Kohli's leadership. Srikkanth praised India's ODI strength but questioned their performance in crucial knockout matches.

Amidst
Team India's recent Test loss against South Africa, former cricketer Kris
Srikkanth has expressed strong opinions about the team's prowess in
different cricket formats. Since Virat Kohli relinquished the Test captaincy,
India's performance abroad has raised concerns, marking a significant departure
from their previous successes. The team's struggles in Test matches across
South Africa, England, and Australia have sparked debates over Rohit Sharma's
leadership, the team's competitive spirit, and the selection of certain
players.
Srikkanth,
known for his candid analysis, criticized Team India's Test cricket, asserting
that beyond ODIs, the team's reputation appears inflated. He commended their
dominance in 50-over matches despite faltering in crucial knockout fixtures.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, he emphasized Kohli's era as exceptional,
highlighting India's formidable run in overseas matches during that time.
However, since then, their performance has significantly declined, especially
in Test cricket.
"When Virat Kohli was the captain of the team, we were outstanding. We dominated in England, we fought hard in South Africa, we won in Australia. We had a good phase for 2-4 years. Yes, we were dominating in England, in Australia," Srikkanth remarked.

The
recent loss against South Africa has intensified scrutiny on Rahul Dravid's
coaching team, as a potential 0-2 loss might prompt changes before their
Australian tour. Cape Town, the upcoming test venue, hasn't favored India
historically, presenting a formidable challenge for the two-time WTC finalists.
The team aims to rebound after their recent innings defeat and salvage their
performance in the series' final game.
Srikkanth's
candid assessment underscores the challenge India faces in living up to the
standards set during Kohli's tenure. The debates regarding Test cricket,
captaincy, and player selection continue to echo within the cricketing
community. As the team navigates these challenges, the upcoming matches will
serve as critical litmus tests to gauge their ability to reclaim past glories
and redefine their status in international Test cricket.
