Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar expressed his frustration with the politics
surrounding the problem of 'stubble burning,' accusing the AAP government in
Delhi and Punjab of exploiting the issue. The Supreme Court, on the other hand,
reprimanded the governments of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan,
instructing them to immediately halt crop residue burning due to the escalating
pollution levels in Delhi-NCR.
Several
cities in neighbouring states, such as Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh,
have also reported dangerously high levels of air pollution. For instance,
Ghaziabad recorded an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 338, Gurugram 364, Noida 348,
Greater Noida 439, and Faridabad 382.
Khattar expressed his displeasure, saying, "It's unfortunate that some do politics on it." Any politics on this is detrimental to them rather than beneficial. We have a lot of power in Haryana...Stubble has become a commercial commodity with a market value. I urge Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann that we can assist them. It is not a political matter."

The
Supreme Court expressed worry over the ongoing problem of stubble burning
following the rice harvest season, saying, "The concern is this...these
farm fires are not stopping." What steps are the states taking to put a
stop to the agricultural fires? This cannot be forced on Delhi year after
year."
In
summary, Haryana's Chief Minister is offering assistance in addressing the
stubble-burning problem, emphasizing that it should not be a political issue.
It remains to be seen how state governments will coordinate to tackle this
problem and provide cleaner air in the region in light of the Supreme Court's
stringent directions.
