Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina's nephew, Saurabh Kumar, died in a tragic hit-and-run accident in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. Another youth also lost his life. The accused driver fled but was later arrested by police.
In a terrible accident, 27-year-old Saurav Kumar, son of Suresh Raina’s maternal uncle, a former Indian cricketer, lost his life in a hit-and-run accident near the Gaggal airport, Kangra, on Thursday morning. The second one, a 19-year-old Shubham, was another victim who was killed in the sad event.
The police report indicated that a driver, whose name was missing, was driving rashly in the Himachal Timber area in Gaggal when he ran into a scooter on which both Saurabh and Shubham were riding. The driver embodies a chilling case of indifference because after all, he left the place where the accident happened soon after that.
As the issue has been determined, the police at Gaggal began an investigation and a mission to find the taxi driver. The arrest of an accused identified as Sher Singh from Mandi district took place after the CCTV footage of the area played an important role.
That accident has put the Raina family and the community within the neighborhood to be in a situation of shock and grief. Saurabh, who belonged to Gaggal and the same place where Raina's maternal home is, had a close relationship with him.
