In the recent turmoil that unfolded in Tigodiya village, Basti district, Uttar Pradesh, a seemingly joyous occasion turned into a communal clash during the installation of a Laxmi idol. The incident led to the swift intervention of the Basti Police, resulting in the arrest of 12 individuals, including prominent names like Shani Basant, Umesh Yadav, and Akhilesh Yadav.

The discord originated when a group engaged in celebratory festivities with a DJ inadvertently threw colors on a mosque while dancing. This seemingly innocuous act snowballed into a serious dispute, with both communities accusing each other of provocation and escalating tensions.

To address the escalating situation, SHO Dinesh Chandra Chaudhary of Rudhauli reported that the arrested individuals now face charges under IPC Section 149 (rioting), 452 (criminal trespass), and other relevant sections. These charges underscore the gravity of the clashes and emphasize the authorities' commitment to restoring law and order in the region.

Recognizing the need for immediate action to prevent further escalation, a substantial police force, including two PAC companies, has been deployed in Tigodiya village. This strategic move aims to maintain a visible and authoritative presence, reassuring the local populace and preventing any potential resurgence of hostilities.
