According to the Mumbai Police, the inferno erupted at approximately 3 a.m., triggering a frantic rescue operation. A total of 46 people suffered injuries in the fire's wake, with six fatalities and two individuals still in critical condition, as reported by news agency ANI. Currently, 40 people are receiving medical care, with 25 at HBT Hospital and 15 at Cooper Hospital, while updates from other private healthcare facilities are awaited.

The blaze primarily engulfed the ground-floor shops, causing extensive damage. It devoured scrap materials, two parked vehicles, and four other vehicles, leaving a grim trail of destruction in its wake. Moreover, the fire department's report revealed that the flames also engulfed a multi-story structure, resulting in further losses.

As the horrifying incident unfolded, numerous individuals found themselves stranded on various floors and rooftops, desperately awaiting rescue. Responding swiftly to the catastrophe, eight fire engines and five jumbo tankers arrived at the scene to combat the fierce flames. These courageous efforts aim to ensure the safety of the residents and mitigate further harm.
