In a devastating accident in Rajasthan's Sikar district, a private bus collided with a flyover wall, resulting in the deaths of 12 passengers and injuring approximately 30 others. The accident occurred on Tuesday when the bus, traveling from Salasar, lost control while navigating a turn and struck the wing wall of a flyover in Laxmangarh. The crash impact completely crushed the bus's right side, leaving many passengers trapped inside.

Inspector General of Police Satyendra Choudhary confirmed the casualties and said that those with severe injuries have been transferred to Jaipur for further medical care, while others are receiving treatment at Sikar’s SK Hospital. Local authorities have begun an investigation into the cause of the accident, though initial reports indicate that speeding and loss of control may have been contributing factors. Police had to employ a crane to rescue the passengers who were trapped in the wreckage.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences and announced an ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh for the families of the deceased and ₹50,000 for the injured from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF). Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma also expressed grief, offering prayers for the deceased and assuring proper medical treatment for those injured. He directed officials to expedite assistance for victims and their families. Rajasthan Congress Chief Govind Singh Dotasra extended sympathies to the affected families and called for all necessary support for the injured.
