In Texas, a woman carried out a fatal shooting at a prominent church in Houston, leading to the death of one individual and injuring two others. The incident occurred at a megachurch affiliated with renowned evangelical pastor Joel Osteen, adding shock to the community amidst the excitement surrounding Super Bowl LVIII.

According to reports from the city's police chief, the assailant, described as a woman in her early thirties, entered the church wearing a long trench coat, armed with a long rifle, and accompanied by a young boy, believed to be around five years old. She initiated gunfire upon entering the premises, leading to the injury of two individuals.

Among the victims, a child of approximately five years old remains in critical condition, while a 57-year-old man, shot in the hip, is reported to be stable, as confirmed by Houston's police chief, Troy Finner.
