Train Derailment Tragedy Strikes Bihar - Quick Response and Relief Efforts Underway

In a devastating incident on Wednesday, October 11, several coaches of the North East Superfast train derailed at the Raghunathpur railway station in Bihar, causing widespread concern. The mishap occurred at 9:35 pm when the train no. 12506, known as the North East Express, was en route from Anand Vihar station in Delhi to Kamakhya in Assam.

station in Bihar, causing widespread concern. The mishap occurred at 9:35 pm
when the train no. 12506, known as the North East Express, was en route from
Anand Vihar station in Delhi to Kamakhya in Assam.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav swiftly responded to the crisis by speaking with officials, the District Magistrate, and medical officers. "We have issued alerts and mobilized security forces, including NDRF and SDRF, with the top priority being the preservation of lives and providing treatment to the injured. We have also established a helpline number for assistance," he affirmed.
Union Minister and Buxar Member of Parliament Ashwini Kumar Choubey expressed his distress over the derailment, informing that one AC coach and two sleeper coaches were involved in the accident. "This is a tragic incident in our Buxar area. I have been informed that three coaches derailed. I have reached out to the DG NDRF, Chief Secretary, DM, DG, and GM Railways. Our workers are actively engaged in rescue operations, with medical teams on the scene. I am personally heading to Raghunathpur, Buxar," he announced.
