The statue captures her in a dynamic dance pose, echoing her iconic hit 'Hips Don't Lie'. Shakira proudly shared glimpses of the statue on her Instagram, expressing joy at sharing the moment with her parents, beautifully captured in the photos alongside the statue.

The statue's base bears a poignant plaque highlighting Shakira's impact, stating, ''SHAKIRA. On February 2, 1977, Barranquilla was born to the world: A heart that composes, hips that do not lie, an unmatched talent, a voice that moves masses, and bare feet that march for the good of childhood and humanity.'' The artistic representation includes symbolic elements like the aluminum skirt denoting sea and river waves, uplifted arms symbolizing transcendence, and clasped hands depicting universal reach.
