In a resounding call to action, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman underscored the imperative of liberating India from the vestiges of the colonial mindset that has persisted since the British era. Speaking during a significant event at Central Sanskrit University in Puri, Sitharaman advocated for the country's transformation, emphasizing that this paradigm shift was pivotal for India's transition into a developed nation by 2047.

Sitharaman's address came as a part of the 'Meri Mati Mera Desh' campaign, aiming to ignite a sense of national pride and development. She recounted how Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced the 'Panch Pran' strategy during the Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort in New Delhi. Modi's strategy's central theme is eradicating remnants of a colonial mindset that might hinder India's progress.

"We need to free ourselves from the slavery mindset instilled in us by the British. Only then will India become a developed country by 2047," emphasized Sitharaman.
