In preparation for the upcoming Deepavali festival, the Southern Railway is planning to introduce a Vande Bharat Express service between Bengaluru and Ernakulam. This new route is expected to alleviate the rush of travelers during the festive season.

The proposed schedule for this Vande Bharat Express entails its departure from Bengaluru at 4 a.m. on Fridays, with its destination set for Ernakulam. By 1:30 p.m. on the same day, the train is scheduled to reach Ernakulam junction, and it will commence its return journey by 2 p.m. Later in the evening, at around 10 p.m., the train will arrive back in Bengaluru. If approved by higher railway authorities, this service will also operate on Saturdays and Sundays.

Additionally, Karnataka is likely to witness the introduction of another Vande Bharat Express route between Mangaluru and Goa by the end of this year. Nalin Kumar Kateel, a prominent BJP leader and Dakshina Kannada Member of Parliament, confirmed that the Railway Minister had provided assurances about the launch of the Goa-Mangaluru Vande Bharat Express. During discussions in New Delhi, he also requested that the Bengaluru-Kannur train not be extended to Kochi, a request that received a positive response from the Railway Minister.

Furthermore, approval has been granted for the operation of an early morning train from Subrahmanya Road station to Mangaluru, as well as an evening train from Mangaluru to Subrahmanya Road.

Bengaluru is already well-connected by Vande Bharat trains to Chennai, Mysuru, Hubbali-Dharwad, and Hyderabad, and the introduction of new routes is set to further enhance railway connectivity in the region. As the proposal awaits final approval, travelers can look forward to a convenient and efficient travel option between Bengaluru and Ernakulam during the Deepavali celebrations.
