Kim Jong UN, who leads North Korea, is going to Russia this month to meet with President Vladimir Putin and talk about making agreements on weapons. This news comes from CNN, which got its information from the US government.

Adrienne Watson, who speaks for the US National Security Council, says the US knows that Kim Jong UN will be talking about these weapon deals during his visit.

Watson didn't mention the exact time and place for Kim and Putin's possible meeting in Russia. However, this visit could happen after Russia's Defense Minister, Sergei Shoigu, visited North Korea in July. It's also related to recent news that the US officials talked about how North Korea and Russia are working together on a possible arms deal. This deal might involve North Korea giving weapons to help Russia in the conflict in Ukraine.

Shoigu visited North Korea to convince them to sell artillery bullets to Russia. The US wants North Korea to stop discussing weapons with Russia and honor their public commitment not to provide or sell arms to Russia.

More Russian officials went to Pyongyang for further talks, and Putin and Kim exchanged letters, pledging increased cooperation.

The US has raised concerns about Russia and North Korea discussing a deal where North Korea would supply bullets for various weapons, despite North Korea denying it. The US is worried because Russia is seeking more supplies for its war in Ukraine.

The Biden administration remains concerned about these weapon talks, especially after Sergei Shoigu's visit to North Korea and subsequent discussions involving Russian officials.

The US is sharing this information to highlight Russia's attempts to bypass rules and acquire more weapons for its war, while also alerting North Korea that they are closely monitoring the situation.
