Woman, Daughter-in-law Gang-raped in Andhra Pradesh, Police Hunt for Suspects

In a shocking case of gang-rape in Andhra Pradesh's Sri Satya Sai district, a woman and her daughter-in-law were attacked by five men after their husbands were injured. The incident has prompted an immediate police search and attention from state leaders, including Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
In a brutal incident in Andhra Pradesh’s Sri Satya Sai district, a 50-year-old woman and her 28-year-old daughter-in-law were gang-raped by five unidentified men. The attack occurred early Saturday morning after the assailants also injured the husbands of the two women with machetes. Authorities are conducting an intense search for the culprits.
The family, living in a temporary dwelling near an under-construction paper mill in Nallabommanipalli village, Chilamathur block, was attacked around 2 AM. The father and son, who worked as security guards at the site, spotted the men moving suspiciously on motorcycles and confronted them, which led to the violent assault. The attackers then forced their way into the family’s home and raped the two women before fleeing the scene.
Four special police teams have been formed to track down the suspects, and investigations are ongoing. The victims have been taken to a hospital for treatment, while the condition of the two men is reported to be stable.

This horrifying incident prompted swift reactions from state officials. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu personally contacted the district superintendent of police, V Ratna, to inquire about the case. Other prominent leaders, including Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha, Women and Child Welfare Minister Savithamma, and Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna, have also directed the police to expedite the investigation and bring the perpetrators to justice.
