An Israeli strike on Gaza’s Nasser Hospital has killed 20 people, including five journalists and several health workers, triggering international outrage. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the country “deeply regrets” the incident and promised an investigation, while the Israeli military stressed it does not intentionally target civilians.
The UN, UK, France, and Germany strongly condemned the attack. UN chief António Guterres called it a “horrific killing” and urged an impartial probe. UK foreign secretary David Lammy demanded an immediate ceasefire, while French President Emmanuel Macron called the strike “intolerable” and pressed for humanitarian access. Germany said it was “shocked” by the events.
US President Donald Trump said he was unaware of the strike but noted he was “not happy about it.” Media watchdogs also condemned the attack, highlighting growing concerns over the deliberate targeting of journalists in conflict zones. Reporters Without Borders chief Thibaut Bruttin questioned when such killings would end, while the Committee to Protect Journalists accused the world of failing to act firmly.
