Since its debut on August 10, the second season of the Prime Video series "Made in Heaven" has found itself entangled in a web of controversies. In a recent development, Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti, the minds behind the series, have stepped forward to dispel speculations surrounding the fourth episode. The duo addressed concerns that the new season's episode might be drawing inspiration from the real-life narrative of the once-rumored Bollywood pair, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif.

The focal point of the fourth installment of Made in Heaven 2 centers around the wedding of renowned actors Sarafaraz Khan and Leila. Notably, Leila, hailing from Iran, has seamlessly carved her niche within the Hindi film fraternity. Portrayed by actor Elnaaz Norouzi, Leila's character intertwines with Sarfaraz, essayed by Pulkit Samrat. As the narrative unfolds, Sarfaraz, on the verge of unveiling an upcoming project alongside Leila, endeavors to sway the film's director into substituting her with a younger co-star.
While engrossed in the episode, a segment of the audience couldn't help but draw parallels between the storyline and the speculated romance of Salman and Katrina, which had made headlines in 2003. Addressing these observations, Zoya, who co-directed the episode alongside Reema, shared her perspective with Mid-Day, stating, "Pulkit is an absolute delight. A skilled actor and a joy to collaborate with, I had the pleasure of directing an episode with him in Season 1, and it was an immensely enjoyable experience.
His portrayal was well-received by the viewers. Given the recurring nature of characters in many shows, we thought it fitting to bring him back and script his marital journey. The intention was never to mirror Salman and Katrina's story. While that's your interpretation, it's fascinating how art can evoke diverse connections."
Reema further emphasized that the audience retains the liberty to "interpret it" as they see fit.
In addition to Zoya and Reema, the creative direction of Made in Heaven 2 extends to Alankrita Shrivastava, Neeraj Ghaywan, and Nitya Mehra. The ensemble cast features Arjun Mathur, Sobhita Dhulipala, Jim Sarbh, Kalki Koechlin, Shashank Arora, Shivani Raghuvanshi, Mona Singh, Trinetra Haldar, Ishwak Singh, and Vijay Raaz.
