101 Ways to Tackle Chinese Spy Balloon:-
The United States recently shared information with India on the measures it employed to address the threat posed by a Chinese "spy" balloon that had entered its airspace. General Kenneth Wilsbach, commander of the Us Pacific Air Forces, revealed that private and closed-door conversations were held with several air chiefs in the region, including India, about the incident.
He emphasized that they had not shared much about it and that the conversations were brief.
In February 2023, the US shot down a Chinese surveillance balloon with the AIM-9X Sidewinder missile. The Indian military had previously drafted a set of protocols to deal with threats like surveillance balloons or unidentified flying objects after a similar object was spotted over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands in 2022.
Wilsbach, who is on an official visit to India for Cope India 23, a bilateral air exercise between the Indian and the US Air Force, stressed that the airspace of every country is its own sovereign zone. Any country that violates another country's airspace should cause concern, he opined.
The primary objective of the air exercise is to cultivate a heightened degree of mutual comprehension and familiarity between the respective air forces while simultaneously facilitating the exchange of optimal techniques and methodologies. Wilsbach mentioned that two B-1 long-range bombers of the USAF will participate in the bilateral exercise for the first Time. He also noted that the Chinese air force and navy made significant advancements and modernization.
