An under-construction building collapsed in the Horamavu Agara area of Bengaluru, leaving 17 people feared trapped beneath the debris. Rescue operations are ongoing, with emergency services and local agencies working together to save those affected. The collapse coincided with severe rainfall across the city, which has worsened rescue efforts.

According to initial reports, the entire building gave way, causing people to be trapped underneath. Fire and emergency personnel were quick to respond, deploying rescue vans to the scene. A senior police official confirmed that coordinated rescue efforts are underway.

The incident occurred as parts of Bengaluru, especially northern regions, experienced heavy downpours. Five teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) have been mobilized to assist with rescue and evacuation efforts in the flood-affected areas. Yelahanka, a northern suburb, bore the brunt of the rainfall, with many areas witnessing waist-deep water, severely affecting daily life.

In addition to the building collapse, the flooding disrupted the city’s infrastructure, leading to traffic jams, waterlogged roads, and damages to properties. Ballari Road, leading to the Kempegowda International Airport, and other major routes were heavily congested, while houses in low-lying areas were inundated.
