Three bikers lost their lives in separate incidents in Panipat and Karnal on the morning of January 16, 2025, due to dense fog and hazardous road conditions.

In Panipat’s Samalkha, two men, Anurag and Krish, were killed when the bike they were riding collided with a parked truck on GT Road near Patti Kalyana. The victims, second-year students from Mahendergarh and Katihar, were traveling to Haridwar from New Delhi. Their friend, Jitender, confirmed that Anurag’s bike hit the truck from behind, causing both riders to fall on the road.

In a separate incident, an elderly biker named Suchet, returning from his workplace at a refinery, was found dead in the fields of Babail village after allegedly being hit by a heavy vehicle.

In Karnal, dense fog led to a pile-up of at least four vehicles, including a tempo traveller that crashed into a diversion board on an under-construction flyover near Madhuban on NH-44. No major injuries were reported, though the incident caused minor damage to the vehicles.

The police have called for improved safety measures at the flyover construction site, following multiple accidents in the area.
