According to Chhattisgarh Police, the IED blast was orchestrated by Naxalites who strategically planted the explosive device to inflict harm upon the CRPF 85 battalion. This heinous act of violence underscores the persistent threat faced by security personnel in the area. The region's authorities have confirmed that the incident falls under the jurisdiction of Gangalur police station, further intensifying the urgency to address the growing menace.

Tragically, this recent incident follows a devastating event in April, where ten security personnel and a driver lost their lives in another IED blast perpetrated by Maoists in the neighboring district of Dantewada. The previous attack occurred as a team from the state police's District Reserve Guard (DRG) was returning from a mission aimed at countering Naxalite activities.
