Arshad Warsi's Memorable Encounter with Jaya Bachchan: Prepared to Face the Heat from the Legendary Amitabh Bachchan's Wife !

In an exclusive interview with Humans of Bombay, Arshad Warsi shared insights into his journey and disclosed that he initially worked as a choreographer for advertisements before stepping into the world of movies with the 1993 film Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja. However, an incident on the set of that film left such a profound impact on him that he made a solemn vow never to be part of films again.

Recounting a little-known incident, Arshad Warsi shared an amusing and memorable experience during his early days as a choreographer. In an unexpected twist, he encountered a situation that made him question his involvement in the film industry and consider abandoning it altogether. While working on the film Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, the production team approached him to choreograph a complex song featuring a large group of performers. Arshad, not referring to producer Boney Kapoor, interacted with the production staff and confidently estimated that it would take him four days to complete the choreography for the song.

Arshad Warsi disclosed that after agreeing on a price of Rs 1 lakh for the choreography work, the production representative had requested him to complete it quickly due to budget constraints. Determined to deliver his best, Arshad worked tirelessly, putting in extra hours, and managed to finish the task in just three days. However, when it came time for payment, he was surprised to receive only Rs 75,000. Perplexed, Arshad questioned the discrepancy, asking about the remaining Rs 25,000. 

Arshad Warsi shared how he landed his debut film when director Joy Augustine visited his home and later called him, offering a role in a film produced by ABCL. Arshad, hesitant about acting, expressed his concerns, not wanting to be the person who failed in the industry and became a subject of pity.

Arshad Warsi sent his pictures to ABCL as a formality and didn't think much of it. However, his perspective changed when he received a surprising call from Jaya Bachchan, asking him to meet her at the office. He went to the meeting expecting to be fired, but to his astonishment, Jaya Bachchan offered him the film, leaving him in disbelief.

In a later conversation, Arshad Warsi inquired from Jaya Bachchan about the reason behind her decision to cast him in her film. To his surprise, she revealed that it was the collection of 36 photos he had sent, each showcasing a unique expression, that impressed her and convinced her to select him for the role. This revelation highlighted the power of Arshad's versatile expressions, ultimately contributing to his successful journey in the film industry.
