The idea for the post office was initially proposed in August, and to everyone's amazement, it has been completed within just one month. The construction work is now progressing at an unprecedented pace, showcasing the remarkable speed and efficiency of the 3D printing technology being utilized.

The construction of the post office in Cambridge Layout, Ulsoor, Bangalore, is currently underway by Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) at a cost of around ₹23 lakhs. This innovative project is expected to be 30 to 40 percent cheaper than a traditional post office, as reported by The New Indian Express. Originally proposed in August last year with a target completion time of one month, the construction process has now gained momentum and is progressing at an accelerated pace.


Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, the executive chairperson of Biocon, a leading biotech company, also expressed her reaction to the news, stating, "Excited to see the country's first 3D-printed post office being built in Bengaluru - hoping this sets the trend for future innovations!"

She is renowned for her outspoken views on Bengaluru's infrastructure and mobility challenges. The 3D-printed post office, expected to span 1,100 square feet, will operate like a traditional post office, offering a range of services.
