In a distressing incident in Bihar's Hajipur, a government school teacher, Gautam Kumar, was forcibly kidnapped and married to Chandni Kumari. Despite the family's efforts to file a complaint, the police allegedly failed to act promptly. Eventually, police traced the couple and temporarily housed them at a local police station due to the family's refusal to accept Chandni into their home. In
a startling occurrence at Bihar's Hajipur, an unsettling incident transpired
involving Gautam Kumar, a government school educator, who became a victim of a
forced marriage after being abducted at gunpoint. The distressing event
unfolded outside Patepur Repura Middle School, leaving bystanders helpless as
Gautam was forcefully taken away in a vehicle. Chandni Kumari, identified as
the woman wedded against her will to Gautam, became the centre of controversy
surrounding this abduction and coerced union.
Despite
Gautam's family's persistent efforts to lodge a police report, their attempts
were allegedly dismissed by authorities who failed to register their complaint
promptly. Frustrated and feeling neglected, Gautam's family resorted to staging
a protest, opting to block the Mahua-Patepur road, demanding swift justice for
their kin. The situation took a disconcerting turn when visuals depicting the
forced marriage circulated across social media platforms, prompting widespread
public outrage and outcry.
Responding to the escalating public outcry, law enforcement agencies took action by tracing the whereabouts of the couple to Mahnar. Subsequently, Gautam and Chandni were brought under police custody at the local police station. However, a troubling dilemma emerged when Gautam's family adamantly refused to accept Chandni into their household, intensifying the complexity of the situation.
